Mercy Nelson has always loved using photography to document the world around them and after studying fine art photography at USD they fell in love with film and alternative analog photographic processes specifically. Their work tends to focus on everyday objects and scenes that are warped into different realities through the combination of alternative and experimental film processes as well as mixed media. Mercy lived in Sioux Falls most of their life and now resides in Santa Fe, NM where they run a community darkroom, work on art, and frolic around in the high desert with their dog.
