With these pieces I'm looking to re-contextualize my photography, but keeping it within my practice, style, and direction of where I want my work to continue and grow. Normally when making pieces for a show, I don't consider my work being for sale and I'm creating pieces that are personal. For this show, I challenged myself to consider the viewer and buyer's perspective. In doing this, I selected specific images that would be more approachable to a viewer/buyer. I tried a different editing technique and rounded back to photographs I haven’t considered in years. In addition, I hope to be printing these on a different material than I’m used to. Lately, I’ve been wanting to experiment more with putting images on wood, as in plywood, a trophy mount, and resign. This show will be giving me the opportunity to continue to experiment with that permanent framing technique, but also exploring how different editing, paper, and framing can re-contextualize/re-conceptualize existing photographs into new pieces of artwork/practice that I'm more excited about. These pieces are still a work in progress with what paper I decide to use and how I plan to paste/attach them on plywood. However, I'm imagining them being rolled on like flyers with wheat paste.
