About the Artist
Suyao Tian is an artist from the Twin Cities, MN, known for her dynamic water-based media paintings. As an adjunct faculty member at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, she shares her passion for art with her students in Water-Based Media studio classes. Beyond teaching, she runs Viewpoint Gallery and actively contributes to the art community as an Executive Board member of Art Buddies and a board member of the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association (NEMAA).
Suyao's artistic journey began with a BA from the University of Central Arkansas and an MFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Her work, represented by Claire Oliver Gallery in NYC, has graced numerous group and solo exhibitions across the globe. Her pieces have found permanent homes in esteemed collections, including the North Dakota Museum of Art and the University of Minnesota.
In addition to her gallery presence, Suyao has collaborated with notable commercial clients like Target, Room & Board, MSP International Airport, and BOND International Design Agency, showcasing her versatility and appeal in both the fine art and commercial art worlds.
